THE RESTAURANT The presence of a wine tavern dates back to the late 1800s, but it was not until the 1930s that Leone Visconti, grandfather of current owner Maria Fiorella, became its owner.
\nIn the beginning, grandmother Adelina cooked a few simple dishes for workers and daily customers, and more important lunches to celebrate parties, baptisms and weddings.
\nOver time this restaurant was transformed and became one of the temples of traditional Bergamasque cuisine, an elegant and refined place that offers authentic cuisine prepared with local ingredients.
\nTHE RESTAURANT Trattoria Visconti’s is a family story, in which each member has found his role: Daniele, in the dining room together with his mother Fiorella and father Giorgio, is the face of the restaurant and is responsible for the extensive wine cellar-which includes, in addition to wine, a selection of craft beers.
\nIn the kitchen is Roberto, the youngest son, who offers a seasonal menu, where traditional dishes are revisited without distorting their meaning and memory.
\nNearly all the produce comes from the large vegetable garden at the back of the restaurant, where there is also a field of native Bergamo corn, for the local polenta, and a small orchard.
\nHere we try, as much as possible, to be self-sufficient.
